Saloodo, a digital freight platform from Germany, is expanding. The startup, which connects shippers and carriers with a solution for ordering and handling shipments, will now launch its platform in Turkey.
Turkey isn’t the first market abroad for the German startup, which was launched by DHL Group in 2017. The platform is already available in several other countries in Europe, including Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Poland.

Lately, Saloodo has been moving into emerging markets outside of Europe. The DHL subsidiary has already been launched in the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. With its digital marketplace, the startup wants to connect shippers and carriers via transparent shipment contracts.
‘Turkey is a key market for us’
“After successfully entering the Middle East and the African continent, we are continuing our strategic growth by expanding to Turkey”, explains Antje Huber, Managing Director Saloodo. “Turkey is a key market for us. Besides being a gateway to Asia, we also see an increasing demand for smart logistic solutions in the country. We continuously work towards our vision of a world in which logistics are smart and digitalized, and we are therefore inspired to bring our innovative solution to life in more and more markets.”

On its platform Saloodo offers both an online freight exchange and digital freight forwarding. All contractual relationships on the Saloodo website are organized via the existing local DHL entity. It enables shippers to find trusted and reliable freight carriers in Turkey.
As of today, Saloodo serves more than 30,000 shippers and over 12,000 carriers across 35 countries.
